The maket made a rapid all- round recovary to day, the spectacular rise being in Telephones Athens and Chins Lights, the first-named Belgrade at one time of the day reaching Berlin 831 reacting later on profit tak- ing. but closing at 001 strong. Wharves also were marked higher, and touched $117 bid, whilst Hotels improved their position to a buying rate of 26.15 and possibly a little higher.

It is difficult to say whether the quist strength shown today means anything in particular. We continue to believe, however, that the market is going through a slow process of accumulation
Wheat: The advancing gold price and the higher Liverpool and Argentine wheat markets were strengthening influences. There was very
pressure, while exporte were fair.
Cotton: The higher Sterling exchange instigated renewed specula tire buying, which was later off-set by Southern selling. At the closing: the tone was steady.
Silver: Market firm. Prices were higher at the opening. Switching from December into March and May was very active. At the the close the market was somewhat reactionary on profit-täking and on evening-up- before the holiday.
Business Done: 750,000 shares.-
