Asia Lands, Limited, has received the following report form their New York correspondenta, E. A. Pierce & Co. The market was again at a stand- still. We do not think there need be any apprehension over the underly ing position. In other words, we do not expect a severe downward reaction. – As a matter of fact, we hold the opinion that the list is going through a slow and irregular process of accumulation.

Wheat: The advance in the gold price and in the Storling exchange encouraged buyers. There was sufficient support in evidence to off-set the continued liquidation for December delivery, while there was some broadening of outside interest.

Cotton: December notices for 11,000 bales brought some scattered liquidation." However, evidence of liquidation for other months was absent and sentiment was somewhat mixed.

Silver: The advance in the gold price was responsible for a higher opening and the market continued to show strength throughout the day. A feature was the switching from December to March contracts. Business Dope: 1,010,000 sharIS
