Asia Lands, Limited, has received the following report from their New York correspondents, E A. Pierce & Co. We think the market continues. to act as though it is gradually recovering confidence, While business news is neutral and not definitely encouraging, there does seem a some- what greater belief that we shall witness some improvement in the next few months, like the action of rails in the past few days.
Wheat: Opened down on easier cables and then rallied from two to one-half cents on commission-house buying. There was profit-taking. towards the close.
Cotton: Hedge sales increased but offerings met with a ready dem- and at the slightly lower levels Buying was not so aggressive due to ther Crop Report, which is expected to show an increase.
Silver: Bank and commission-house buying caused an advance at the opening. Prices were held,"advancing abortly before the close dir redewed commission-house, buying, undoubtedly due to further rumours of remonetisation.
