Much has been said and written about modern youth, mostly about his fallings and incapacities. All Scotland-or, at any rate, a good few: Scottish fournalists—an seems to be making whoopee " over this Forth Bridge scheme which Fife and its neighbours have decided to back. I wonder why.
There's a lot to be said for a Forth road-bridge, even if we can't quite afford, the favourite plans for one at present. Indeed, it's quite obvious that, sooner or later, some means will have to be found for getting northbound traffic from Edinburgh across the Firth quickly
and easily. It may be a bridge, it may be some sort of super-ferry. But in this motoring, age it will have to come.
But the plan for a bridge at Kincardine-it may be a very use- ful plan so fai às that small town It must be recognised that these and its own attractive neighbour were exceptionally difficult times hood are coricerned. A model aeroplane, with à model cabin in which two white mice were imprisoned, was the centre of a fierce blaze of -petrol which lasted some minutes. The .white mice were afterwards released, and
were none the worse for their ad- venture. It was obvious that their cabin was, at any rate, made of a material which is non-con-
ducing.
Then the inventor inserted him- self in a shelter made of the non- conductive material, and pans of petrol on the windward side were Ignited. The inventor could be seen through a screen af flames,
from which he was shielded.
After the first had died out and the inventor had emerged unseath ed, it was found that the wall of the shelter was very warm but not unbearably hot.
