Aria Lands, Limited, has received the following report from their New York correspondents, E A. Pierce & Co. Tho Federal Reserve's announcement of increased buying of Government securities during the past week served to provide the stimulus for today's rise. The Amount purchased was not comparatively large but is interpreted to. mean the inauguration of a definite policy to expand credit. Many authorities think that another step will shortly be some recognition of the world value of gold. The general feeling is that the path of least resistance remains upward. Whent: A bullish construction is inferred from the London Wheat Conference. The strength of securi- ties is accepted as a positive inflationary development. A Russian fuming story and dry weather in the Argentine revived waning bullish - support. The advance met with North-West hedging which, together with profit-taking, checked the up-turn.. Winnipeg partially respond ed to the frost predicted. The Northern sections show liberal exports. Cotton: Beflected the activity, in other markets, with demand more. general, Silver: There was an adrance on general buying, due to the strength of Sterling in sympathy with other markets. The Trade bought some sliver at the lower levels and there was scattered Commis- sion house and speculative selling. Business Done: 3,330,000 shares,

The decrease of Germany's fa- vourable trade balance in the first half of this year was mainly due to the shrinkage of trade with overseas countries. The decline of Germany's import was largely due to the fall of the "general price level, whereas the shrinkage of 'ex- ¦ ports was caused above all by the fall in the. total" volume of goods sent abroad.
