London, August 1. Immediately after the adjournment of the World. Economic Conference yesterday the nations of the British Commonwealth announced, their decision to maintain the stability of exchanges within the Empire.
This means the creation of a vast Sterling Group, to which other countries may- adhere. It will be the biggest stable financial unit in the world' to-day.
'The door is left open to the United States to join hands with the group as soon as they are ready. The Empire will endeavour to raise wholesale prices and to stabilise them as soon as equilibrium has been established.
At the same time the Dominions have agreed to disenss with British experts the voluntary restriction of agricultural imports into Britain, in order to secure fair treatment for British farmera. -
