Messrs. Roza Bros. have for warded us the following exchange market report for yesterday:
Silver prices dropped 1/18 yes terday for both deliveries, the quotations being 17.13/16 for Ready and 17.7/8 for Forward. Silver ad- vices reported speculators as hav- ing sold. China bought. America was inclined to buy. The tone at the close was steady. In America the rate was lower at 30 for Spot.
New York advices reported the opening rate at 4.404 and the clos- ing rate at 1.45. The market was dull.
With the exception of the Shang- hai rate which was unchanged at 110,3/4 and the Bangkok rate which was put up to 136, other rates were lowered.
Market.

The tone was inclined to easiness in the part of the morning but to wards lunch time reacted slightly.
Sterling,
The market opened with sellers at 1/4.0/16 leading to business" at 1/4.10/39 for near delivery follow- ed by transactions at the same rate for September delivery. The market then reacted and sellers came out at 1/4.19/32 for cash and 1/43 September with business done The market 1/4.21/32 September. closed at lunch time with sellers at at 1/4.19/32 August and 1/41 Sep- tember, buyers at 1/8 higher res- pectively.
Gold Dollars.
Business was reported at 31.11/10 for near delivery. There were sellers at 31.3/4 August and 31.7/8 September, buyers at 1/8 higher respectively.
Yen.
Merchants were quoted at 113.3/4 for near delivery.
Shanghai Dollars,
Shanghai dollars were quoted at 111.3/4 for câЯb.
Shanghai.
Business was reported at 1/2. 13/16 for near delivery. There were sellera at 1/2.3/4, buyers at 1/2. 13/16. for cash.
IN THE AFTERNOON
The market was steadier in the afternoon.
Sterling.
In sterling business was done at 1/4.21/32 for near delivery, finish ing with sellers at 1/4 August and 1/4.21/32 September, buyers prob- ably. at 1/4.21/33 for cash and 1/4. 11/13 September.
Gold Dollars.
Business was done at 30.7/8 for cash. The market closed with sell- ers at 30.13/16 August and 30.15/10 September, buyers at 30.15/16 for near and probably 31 September.
Shanghai.
Sellers were indicated at 1/23/1 for near, buyers probably at 1/2 13/18 for cash.

Asta Landa, Limited, has received the following report from their Now: York correspondents, E. A. Pierce & Co. The market situation remains virtually unchanged, affording little to commend. The technical forma- tion is indistinct, being neither bullish nor bearish. Wheat: Values stayed at the minimum pegged limits. The sharp Winnipeg deeline is attributed to United States sales, protecting unliquifiable contracts. The weather is favourable to the maturing crop. Cotton: Under liquidation influences, plus hedge selling offerings exceeded trade demand. Long speculation was absent. The market lacks the incen- tive for an upward move. Silver London's easiness is attributed to In- dian selling, New York was easier, losing seventy-five points. The Trade bought moderately and there was some short covering on the recessions.
