WILD GIRL'

FILMING ADVENTURES IN NATIONAL PARK

F

While "location trips" in movie making usually imply "plently of extra work and worries for the director and his staff, they are hailed with joy by the players.

As a consequence, Charles Far- rell, Joan Bennett, Ralph Bellamy and the other principals of Fox Films' "Wild Girl" managed to combine good deal of pleasure with their business when the pro- duction got under way for nearly all of the picture was filmed in one of the finest scenic spots in the West, Sequoia National Park. Situated bigh up in the California Sierras among groves of giant trees and with vistas of snow-cap- -ped peaks close at hand, the trip was equal to a splendid vacation as far as the cast was concerned.

screen

Incidentally it happened to be the first "location" Miss Bennett

ber had experienced in career, and was Farrell's first since he made "The Red Dance" four years ago."

Rauol Walsh directed "Wild Girl," which is the current attrac tion at the King's Theatre. Taken from Paul Armstrong's dramatiza- tion of "Salomy Jane's Kiss" by Bret Harte, and with a support- ing cast headed by Eugene Pallette, Irving Pichel, Minna Gambell, Sarah Padden, Willard Robertson and Morgan Wallace, the film pre- senta a vivid romance of the gold. rush days.

For such a campaign monthe of preparation were necessary. Other months, fewer in number were re- quired by the Radio Studios' in" Hollywood to make ready for and to film the story.. All in all, each Iactor considered, it can be claimed that "The Phantom of Orestwood": is the most famous mystery story of all time.
