Great Britain have gained a definite advantage in their Davis "Cup tie against Australia as a result of the victory of F. J. Perry and G. P. Hughes over D. J. Turnbull and A. Quist, the young Australian pair who scored such a sensational triumph over Ellsworth Vides and Keith Gled- hill, the Ameried champions, at the Wimbledon champion ships.

The Australian captain took a Brave step in playing Turnbull and Quist, but these young play ers failed to reproduce their Wimbledon form and were de- feated by three sets to one,
