Despatches from Lisbon indicate that a new torpedo-destroyer named i "Dao" has just been started, this being the occasion of patriotic de- monstrations in gratitude to the Government and specially to Dr. Salazar, Portugal's able statesmen and financier. Dr. Pereira Marques was an ex- cellent English scholar and had travelled widely in Europe and in England. This explaine the reason why the greater part of his Li-i brary consists of English books.

The Museum of Macao is, as stated, in its initial stage, how- ever, it ies well worth seeing.
