HEALTHY POSITION FOR FIRST FOUR MONTHS
DIFFICULTIES WITH BUDGET UNLIKELY
In the course of a speech at the Legislative Council yesterday, the Hon. Mr. Edwin Taylor, Colonial Treasurer, said that the total revenue for Hong Kong for the first four months of the year was approximately $900,000 or more than one-third the sum estimated for the year. He said that provided there was no catastrophie fall in exchange; there was every hope that the budget would be balanced without undue dificulty.

The Colonial Treasurer: I rise by Your Exbellonry's command to move the first rending of a bill entitled "An Ordinance to authorize the appropriation of a supplement sum of five hundred and seventeen thou sand and fifteen dollars thirty cents to defray the charges of the year 1032. The details of all items making up this sum have already been fully explained to Honourable Members from time to time and have received the approval of the Finance Conimittee and of this Council in the usual way.
