TODAY'S RACE MEETING PROSPECTS.

(SEASON TICKET AND WOODLAND STAG TO MEET

AGAIN: INTERESTING RACE AHEAD.

SOME TIPS AND SELECTIONS FOR PUNTERS.

[BY MORNING DEW."); ·

Nine out of the ten races on the card this afternoon at Happy Valley are handicap events and there should be some very good sport especially since the weights have been very judiciously handed out.

The main exent pf the day is the rage over a mile and a quarter between Woodland Stag and Season Ticket. This should be an interesting affair and though Season Ticket is conceding good deal in weight he ought to be able to hold Woodland Stag down.

QUTSIDERS LIKELY TO BE PROMINENT,

Du the whole the day's racing looks very much as if favourites are not going to have things all their own way especially in the

E class .events,

The programme opens with a six furlongs sprint for this cinse and Pocahontas at 180 pounds with Mr. Frost of the saddle looks a very "good bet and ought to just about win Firefly is also in

This pony is always, dan gerous when he is running at any thing anden 100 pounds,, so that an odd ticket on him will not be very Pik 16 another Choy Pak lar wrong, pony that has been given a small weight, so look out for him. On the whole however, The Giraffe and Lucy Glitters appeal best to me.

Lucky Prince appears to be the best of the entries in the Fossumun Handicap E" Olhas and in spite of the fact that he is carrying top. weight he should have much to say at the death, Karipaz is in great fettle at the moment and is sure to live Lucky Prines a good run for his money though he is hardly likely to best him. The Wind another pony which might con ceivably upset calculations and should be backed each way,

Pineapple Plate.

In the second race, six furlongs for C cluse, Punch at 153 pounds, with Mr. S. N. Pan on the saddle tooks as though he will take a lot of beating. The pony is very At at the moment and on his recent performances should command a Intge following. Wembley Stag, Mr Frost's mount, has alan im proved tremendously of into and Mr. Butler on Workable Stag is with a good steet, might have big my choice for the last race of the show. Kate ran a very good second day, but the pony will have to run to Helter Skelter the last time they up against Indian and Cabinet were out and should not be entirely Hall. The last named won such a overlooked. He will be ridden by good race at Macao and subse Mr. Fung as M. Ip Kui Ying, quently did so well here that he following his recent injury, will not is sure to make things hum and Mr. Botelho appears to have a very good. ride this afternoon.

chance of coming home winner. Ajax is in this race too and, it suitably mounted, might make a big laim for honours, though his 163 pounds does not appeal to me,
