A Baton Uharge.
At 8.30 o'clock, under orders from Insp. Stimson of Shaukiwan Police Station, a baton charge was. made, during which the Police ar rested the six accused who were either shouting or throwing stones.. The last accused was hit on the head with a baton by an Indian Police constable, and had to be taken to hospital for treatment.
After evidence had been given by The police officers who were respon sible for the arrests, Mr. Wodo- house pressed for heavy fines bay. Place.ing that the police took a very serious view of disturbances of this nature..
