If you have time to shampoo your hair at home do so; it is always worth while. Very good shampoo powders can be bought to suit all types of hair and the sales women or chemists aro always 'pre- pared to give advice as to the right kind to use.

About two hours before the sun poo dip the tips of the fingers in warm olive oil and rub the scalp with it, moving the skin of the head in a rotary movement: - Keep the hair free from the oil as much as possible, as it is the scalp that benefits from this warm oil treat- ment, not the hair.

An excellent shampoo can be made by filling a basin with hot water and standing in it a stone jar containing pound of soft green soap and half pint of mothy lated spirit. Be careful not to 'stand this mixture near a flame, When it is dissolved and you have Allowed "about two hours for the olive oil to penetrate the scalp, wat the head with hot water, pour a little of the soap mixture over and give the head a good brisk rubbing. THE VALUE AND DANGERS

Undoubtedly plenty of sunlight is extremely good for one-apart from actual sunburning; it is important for grawing children in preventing rickets, and for people convalescing from recent illnesses. But these quick sunburns are not without risk both" to one's appear- anco and one's health. Instead of returning brown and handsome one may come homo, blistered, and peeling. To Bevere and sudden burning may result few hours later in severe chilla, high temperature, headache, and vomiting; and I have seen a patient with mild diabetes fall into severe diabetic coma following sun- burn.
