In a paper read before the In- stitute of Marine. Engineors, en- titled "Low Cost Motorships" Mr. 9. E. Jorgenson, the well-known diesel engine designer, expressed the opinion that the principles fol. lewed in motorship construction and equipment had resulted in "cargo ships of extravagant in tricacy and opet which make one wonder how the owners can afford then in these times of depression." Aftor 20 years of motorshipping, ha declared, the same ideas are adhered to throughout, as were found in the old Selandia, built in- 1012, and he proceeded to outline his ideas to secure simplified and chenger motorship machinery.

Statistics of shipbuilding after the War, said Mr. Jorgensen, show that the tendency of shipowners has been to prefer fuel oil to conl and to prefer mptorships to steam- During the last few years there has been built more moter ships tonnage. in the world than toangy of all other hips com- bined, which fact conclusively proves that shipowners have con- sidered the extra ecst of motor- ships to be justified by their grea- fer economy in operation on the routes for which the majority of ships have been built.

bject to Terms and Conditions of Storage at Holt's Wharf. The Cargo will be ready for Delivery from Godown on and after 16th June.
Optional Cargo will not be landed here, unloe Notice has been given prior to Vessel's arrival, but carried on from part to port to the final port of call to which the option extends.
All broken, chafed and damaged Goods ars to be left in the Godowns, where they will be examined on any Tuesdays and Fridays between the hours of 10.45 A and Noor, within the Free Storage period.
No Claims will be admitted after the Goods have left the Vessel's. Godown, and all Goods remaining undelivered after the 22nd June will be subject to Rost
All Claims against the Vessel must be presented to the Undersigned on or before the 8th July, or "they will not be recognised.
No Fire Insurance will be offerted,
