Although only part of the whole affair has been revealed, it appears that six men working in co-OpUFA» tion with and at the instigation of the French industrial espionage headquarters in the Saar district have succeeded in getting hold of a number of valuable documents" giving full details of certain patents and manufacturing secrets as well as of a plan of certain special. ir. rangements of this factory. These documents have already sent by them to Saurbruecken and deliver ed to the French espionage service. Five of the men involved have been arrested and confessed but their leader, a certain Becker, has succceiled in making good his escape. The whole e: tent of the affair is not yet known but the matter is regarded as very serious, especially with regard to the effect it may have on the general attitude towards the problem of European co-operation and coming so shortly after the military espionage affair At Koenigsberg.
