The Economy of K Shoes

It is because they fit "better". that K Plus Fating Shoes stay "Fit"

Wear imposes no unnatural strain on K Plus Fitting Shoes. They bend where your foot bends, so they don't crack or sag. The heels are a fitting parrower than the foreparts, and that is why they fit snugly at the ankles yet leave comfortable room for the 'toes.

'After months of wear K Plus Fittings are still "new looking." That is their economy-they

STAKES.

[BY MORNING DEW."]

Timra were on the slöw side, outsiders were compienous by their absence, and finishes were very tume in the Fourth Extra Race Meeting held on Saturday. The weather was extremely unkind, for besides rendering the couree slow and slippery, it was respon sible for a good deal of congestion among the spectators who crowded all the available sheltered places to watch some of the -races which were run in heavy rain.

In five of the len races, the winners were odds-on favourites. and the biggest winning dividend of the day, only paid out 5-1,

Mr. Leo Frost' wa ngain the most successful jockey, steering home our winners (Mike. Apollo, Groombridge and Leveret) and three seconds (Vasylock, Wisdom Stag and The Pheasant). Mr. do Roza came into his own in the second race when be brought home Masent to oust a well-backed favourite in Vanioose.

The programme opened with a mile rave in which there were four starters, these being Boxing Eve, Vasylock, Jill and Roostan. They Jery carried twice as many tickets ran all the way round in that order!ns FiFs and One Third. He was and finished the same way. In conspicuously prominent all the way 2. The Hunchbacks" Pinte: Six spite of the fact that over a mile round with One-Third in close race a fortnight previously Vasy attendance. Into the straight Mr. ock had accounted for Boxing Eve, Roza took Fritillery out, but the the public made Boxing Eve a pony did not seem to respond too bigger favourite than Vasylock, the well. At the distance post,, One pony carrying 32 more winning Third challenged the lender and had tickets. Mr. Charles made no mis-no difficulty in winning much as he take about the race, and led com-liked, getting there three lengths fortably all the way-round, Vasylock | ahead of Fritillery, Orlando, being able to draw level at any little-fancied pony, came in third to stage of the race. The time was pay 852.50 to his supporters. 2.01.3 which, considering the going, f. was remarkable. Vasylock did quite well to come within two lengths of the winner and Jill was three lengths behind Vasylock, with Roosian many lengths in the rear The winner paid just under event.

Vamoose Disappoints. Carrying by far the greatest nun ber of tickets. Vanoose started a hot favourite for the secand race for non-winning subs of this season, The pony, however, went under to Mascot by a length. Vamoore did not get off too well and Mr. Harri- man, who was riding him, lost no time in getting to the van.

The effort seemed to have been too mucir for the pony for after leading into the straight, it slowed down near the distance post and in spite of repeated efforts by the jockey, could not stall off the challenge from Mascot, which lag conveniently near all the way round. The finish was rather tame as Mascot, after getting a length in front of Vamoose, won mucir as he liked. Brown Eyes came with a big burst in the straight to take third place.

יי,

Groombridge Wins..

Mr. Frost rode an excellent race to win the "D" Class Mile with Cropinbridge. The public made his mount one of the favourites, the others being Twilight, Noukhail and Happy Choice, with Redskins alan well-fancied.

The race wan run in heavy rain. Redskins, Noukhail and Twilight were leading most of the way, the first-named hending the field into the straight. Here both Noukhail and Groombridge passed the leader and after a brief struggle, Graóm- bridge drew away to run by himself, Noukhail finished second and a length farther behind Redskins and Twilight battled for third place, finishing in a dead heat.
