MEETING OF MINERS IN KUALA LUMPUR.
CHINESE SUPPORT THE PROPOSALS.
SINGAPORE, January 8.
The first authoritative indications as to the manner in which the tin restriction scheme is being received in the Malayan min- ing districta were forthcoming at a crowded meeting of European and Chinese miners held in Kuala Lumpur.
"The meeting was also important in that Mr. G. E. Groig, the Senior Wardan of Mines, in the course of a brief address and in dealing with a bombardment of questions, gave the fullest in- formation na to the working of the scheme that has yet beoa. obtainable.
Mr. Greig stated that hoarding of stocks on mines beyond tho allotted export quotas would ruin the scheme and would not be permitted. He stressed the fact that Government expressed no opinion one way or the other, but, merely sought the opinion of the miners. The scheme, if adopted, might come into force in Malaya 'on March 1.:
Few opinions for o against the scheme were expressed during the meeting, and two of the loading Chinese residente of Selangor spoke strongly supporting the scheme,

Government Attitude.
KUALA LUMPUR, Jan. 3. The intenso interest which has been aroused by the Government's invitation to the F.M.8. miners to express their opinions on the tin restriction schemo was shown by the attendance of nearly a hundred persons, mostly Chinese, at a meet- ing held hero on Saturday under the auspices of the Selangor Minors' Association to discuss the scheme.
It will be recalled that the scheme

Advice to Chinese Miners. Mr. Choo Kin Peng said it was already known more or less that the majority of European producers were in favour of the scheme. If they failed with this scheme it seemed to him that the onus would be on the Chinese miners, and it was a very great responsibility for thm to adopt any other method than support of the scheine.
Your opinions will be all based of it. The niners have been iron tonnaga That is to say: the cularised by Government, and their opinion of a man producing a replies were to sent in by January thousand pionls a month will be worth twice the opinion of a man producing five hundred pieuls a month.
