The woman, Evelyn Dessent, aged fifty-two, & post office clerk, of Acton, bad pleaded guilty to steal- ing £104, the money of sub-post- masters at Earling and Willesden Grego.
She said in a written statement that eighteen months ago she ever heard two men talking about dog racing, and belisying that there was money in it started to attend races herself. She won at first, but then she lost all her money and the money of her widowed mother.
