ARGYLLS TRIUMPH OVER SOMERSETS.
COING STRONG IN QUEST FOR LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP.
SOUTH CHINA DEFEAT HONG KONG FOOTBALL CLUB,
Chief interest in werk-end football was centered in the Argylls- Somersets game, and by virtue of their win, the Highlanders have further enhanced their chances. for league honours, having now the scalps of two of the Colony's beat soccer teams in their possession.
Chinese Athletic Association, Inst season's champions, managed to scoure full points against St. Joseph's who started the game two mea abort. South Chiun had the better of their argument with the Hong Kong Foothill Club while Recrein opened their league season well by netting five goals against the Royal Artillery.
The whole
Quite a crop of penalty kicks were awarded in the different games but only one resulted in a goal being scored. programme was carried out in brilliant weather, and another lot of matchen have hoon decided in the most sportsmanlike manner.

SOUTH CHINA. H.K. CLUB:
Spine clever goal-keeping on the part of Rodgers for I.K. Club was seen in the match between the Club and South China, in which the Chinese team won by two goala, Both goals were scored in the first half. In the second portion of the game, Club had several opportuni- ties to reply, but failed to do so. Soon after the game commenced, the China goalie was given an anxious time when he found Bell well placed only a yard or so in frunt of the goal mouth. Bell, who bad possession of the ball after omu elever passing between Gold man and Strange, chat wide.
