"DAMES AHOY."

Dames Ahoy," with Glend Tryon, Helen Wright, Otis Harlan, Eddie Gribbon and Gertruda Astor, now at the Queen's Theatre, is one continuous laugh from stem to stern. The irrespressible Tryon ap- POLTA as & Joung bluejacket who is hurled by a hurricane of events upon the reef of matrimony. Re is one of the trio of sailors bound together by a mutual fear of the damea."

The film starts when they go ushóre to search for a blonde who has spared one of their number, played by Otis Harlan, into sign ing away half his pay. The only clue to her identity is a strawberry, birthmark on her leg, Fortunate ly the action takes place on amusement beach, where the search is not so difficult as it might be elsewhere.

Efforts to extricate Harlan fram the feminine net only result in Tryon becoming similarly snared. Unaware of the impending reward, Tryon wins & dance contest which carries & prize of $500, a nice little bungalow and a bride. And the hapless Tryon had been determined to steer clear of women, and to sign up for another term in the Navy.

Complications pile up to an excruciatingly funny conclusion. Tryon is at his fun-making best. Harlan gives one of his noteworthy characterizations, and Eddie Grib- bon, the third member of the trio, also contributes a highly humorous performance.

Though mother has been the theme of many great screen-story, "Dad" has been comparatively neglected.
