Addressing the jury, Mr. Lindsell pointed out that it would be within their province to determine whether any precautions had been taken by the Police at the Station to prevent the tragedy. Further, they were empowered to make any recommen- dations in the matter should they so desire.

It was arranged that a visit should be paid by the jury and coroner to the scene of the tragedy on Wednesday, August 6. The date for hearing of evidence was, fixed for August 8.
