ENO
When Food Makes No Appeal
A failing appetite is one of Nature's danger signals. It is a warning that all is not well with your digestion-that your system is not freeing itself punctually and thorough- ly of its daily waste. It is this condition. which Eng's "Fruit Salt" corrects.“
Eno simply flushes and effectively cleanses the whole intestinal tract and so prevents the inner sluggishness which leads to poor appetite and indigestion. That is why Eno first thing every morning will stimulate your keenness for meal times and enable you to enjoy every morsel of your food.

WHAT TO EAT-AND WHY.
on the
Opinions differ greatly subject of the kind of "food that: is suitable for small children, "For instance, some experts advise ono half of a lightly boiled egg for children of a year and a half, while other experts strongly disapprove of eggs being given to children until they are three or four years old,
There is also a difference of opinion between the experts as to the wisdom of giving children fried bread.
Small quantities of thin gruel, cereal jellies, and orange juice are usually the first scri-solids to be given to infants, and a hard baked crust is a good thing for them to thew on.
There are in fact several schools of thought; they disagree as to when solids should be added to the milk diet, what these shouldables with gravy, custards, milk Sieved potatoes and green veget-
consist of and the correct amount,
One says that a baby, of nine months should be on a four-hour ful milk diet, consisting of eight ounces of warm milk, to be, given at 7 a.m., I am. 3 p.m., 7 p.m., and 11 p.m. While another tells you that full milk diét must not be given until the child is seventeen months old. Most people, however, agree that when a child is about nine months old it is time to begin feeding him with 'a spoon, and the milk should be in a cup.
Rusks to Chow On.
The introduction of semi-solid food into a small child's "diet dc- pends so much of the individual child and his digestion that it is alnost impossible to law down Hard and-fast rules that are practical for every child.
Mothers must use their own dis- cretion and common sense. Each how food should be introduced by giving one or two teaspoonfuls, watching the effect of this on the child, and if his digestion is not upset, gradually increasing the quantity to two or three tablespoon- fuls.
paddings, lightly boiled eggs nre gradually added to the diet, and by the time the child is two years old he is taking meals with the family. Now he must have the Even slightest kind of meals, and when meat is added to his diet it must be a very small quantity scraped or finely minced.
Summer Months,"
It seems to me that the trouble with most diet experts is that they give the menus for children of various ages, each one equally good in its own particularly way, but none of them takes the weather into account.
For instance, a breakfast of por idge and milk, a small "slice of toast fried in bacon fat or dripping, a smali slice of bread and butter, washed down with a cup of milk, is a very good breakfast for a small child of three or four years old during the winter, but not very suitable for the same small child during the summer months.
I prefer a breakfast of cold crisp toast with butter, cereal with milk, a cup of milk, and a rew apple..
LIPTON'S
"PATNEMALLIE TEA"
This seems to me a sorc suitable breakfast at this time of year, although the first, one is admirable for the winter.
The midday men! should consist of green vegetables and mashed- potatics with gravy, a littlo finely minced meat once a weak, and a little pounded boiled fish or brains
or chicken.
Again, less meat should be given during the summer months. Milk pudding je goed during the winter. but custard, stowed prunes, stewed fruit and junkets are more suitable LS. zweets now.
A cup of milk may be given for the midday meal, and all children. should be allowed to drink as much water as they want, which is likely to be a good deal during the. summer,
