J.A.R.-Reason for the rise is en- tirely due to a strong demand for good investment stocks. There is plenty of money in Hong Kong, due to the currency debacle, and this money is finding its way into the share-market Naturally good investment stocks will go up. Regarding question (a) this stock has been the subject of much speculation within the last two or three months, and has continually gone up until 'last week, when it showed a slight set-back. If you hold these shares, take your pro- fit. If you are thinking of going in for it,forget it. I am of course against foolhardy specula- tion. The present market-price of this stock la absurdly high, (b) This stock is well favoured at the moment, and may ge up slightly, but not very much. You can't go very far wrong if you buy.

GUINEA..
DUTCH OIL COMPANY'S EXPEDITION,
Sourbaya, Fava, April 4-Tho Netherlands Colonial Petroleum Company is sending out an expedi tion on April 17," in which two geologists are participating, to.com. duct explorations in New Guinea. The expulition is expected to inst fourteen months.
The exploitation of the Colonial Petroleum Company's new CORCES sions in Cangkooli-Rangbay and Koetei, in Borneo, start in June, 1831,
The Japanese Boraco Oil Com Pany is preparing to exploit its concessions, in Koetei, for which purpose large shipments of boring material and pipelines are being despatched about the end of April by overal of the Dutch steamship lines.

With G8500,000 worth of crude oil already wasted through the un- controlled gushing of Oklahoma City's newest, largest and wildest oil well, the "gusher" on April 5. continued to spray the surround- ing country while workers vainly strove to bring the flow within bounds.
Crops valued at many thousands of dollars have been destroyed by the far-fung petroleum.
While experts toil in an effort to cap the well, churches through-
