Kowloon Port Works. New Kowloon-Port Works. Shanshuipe Ferry Pier. To complete work ecm menced in 1929

810,000

A sum of $130,000 (on account) was provided in the 109 Estumptes, 875,000 of the above suta to be ased for the construction of the Shanshuipo Ferry Pier. The ten- dež received for un all iron pier was not accepted, being too high. This necessitated calling for fresa tenders for a reinforced concrete pier, thus delaying commencement of construction until July 1920. In consequence, the value of com- piated work at the end of the year only amounted to $19,000. Due to the unfavourable rate of exchange for the purchase of pier materials to he obtained frum London, the original total Estimate of $110,000 for this pier will require to be in- creased to $120,000.

A vote of $40,000 is therefore re- quested to cover the cost of com- pleting the work in 1930. Kowloon, Pors Works, Mong Kok Tsui Ferry Pier. To complete work commenc ed in 1029
