MIDNIGHT DASH TO SAVE WOMEN.

A scenario-like rescue from, a Muslim Pir's hitrem at dead. of night at Hyderabad (Sind), was recently repored in Bombay.

A sensation was caused in Suk- kur when the district police super- intendent, with officers and veiled women in a motor-car, dashed into the town at great speed early in The morning

Apparently the polien received n Feret message from the family of Pir Paghara Sahib ́ of Rohri that the lives of his Zenana party were ir immediate danger. The party included his mother, some ladies of his harem, and the younger brother of Pir, who is Muslim chieftain of thousands of followers of the Hurs and Lurs, officially de- clared a criminal tribe:

Car Pushed by Hand, The police dashed to Pir's fort, and when, a mile away the engine Was stopped. And, the car pushed by hand in order to 'swoid the noise of the engine creating suspicions.

The party formed themselves into a human ladder, scaled the citadel wall, and rescued the frightened women. The car was then pushed rnother mile, and later driven to Sukkur.
