· TORQUAY SCORE SEVEN GOALS.

The top position in Division I. of the English League, held. for a long time by Sheffield Wednesday, changed hands on Satur- day owing to their defeat at Leicester, and the victory of their close competitors, Derby County, whọ beat Blackburn. Aston Villa won two matches during the week and secured a higher place. Everton, however, lost two matches and dropped almost to the bottom of the" League table. Huddersfield last to Sunderland.

League teams in other Divisions were successful and "there were to changes of importance. Torquay created a big surprize by their victory over Bournemouth by seven goals.
