MANY PROSPECTIVE
CHAMPIONS.
FINE TOURNAMENT EXPECTED.
A great deal is expected from the forthcoming Open Championships of the Colony. The game received
real from the exhibition | matches given by the fumous French players last November and the good work was further „en- hanced by Hong Kong's success against Shanghai in the Interpart not long afterwards, The local standard is now admittedly equal to that of any place in China, and the tennis prestige of the Colony slands very high.

Other factors also will add in terest. Since 1024 Do has dominated the courts" and in fet no player has won the singles twice running. Leading playera have had vicissitudes and new champions have every year been greatly encouraged by the fact in the way S. A. Rumjahn, who won the title in 1927, was the first to crash through the older cham- pions, hut Honda had his revenge the following year, and added Fes to his 1921 and 1920 records. W. Lo, however, won in fine style last year, and is all out to retain hie title. In the meantime Ng Sze Kwong has been playing with some eneress, and although not taking part last year, has decided to make another hid for the championship having been tempted by the teresting position.

How the Grews are Shaping. The form of the crews in the International races is shaping very well. The German four, who won the race last year are showing up very well in their practice, and they have every hope of repeating
their victory.
The English crew have also got down to hard training and seem to be shaping very well. They mean. to do their best to wrest the trophy from the Germans this year.
The Portuguese also have beey putting in regular practice, and every man in the boat is keen. They are rusher inexperienced, buz if are able to produce the form they have shown in their practice, stand

The law requires that the Statu tory Report must include the total amount of cash received, by the Company in respect of all shares allotted. That being so, would you be prepared to say that the total amount of cash received in, respect of shares allotted includes all sums mentioned од these application forms -In my opinion, immediately that transaction took place con- verting the uncalled capital to loan, in my opinion, I say, the whole of the shares are fully paid.
Witness went on to say that had he been compiling the same form he would have put in the whole of the shares as fully paid.
Mr. Brewer: Could you say, if you were engaged to make that Statutory Report, that the report you would have prepared would have been substantially the same -Sub atantially, yes.
Mr. Fitzroy asked whether it was not a fact that as a result of the application forms, the abates were issued on credit Witness pointed out that while that was so, there was an additional obligation to pay the balance on demand.
