AMAZING MARRIAGE MYSTERY.
LONDON GIRL'S EXTRAORDINARY STORY AND ITS SEQUEL.
Remarkable developments follow ed the publication of a report in the London papers to the effect that Mrs. Rogers, the wife of Dr. Norman Rogers, of St. John's Wood, London, to whom she was married three weeks previously, had received news that her husband bad died in hospital as the result of a motor accident. It was stated that because of this bereavement Mrs. Rogers had been unable to attend her father's funeral.
"We assumed that it was at a house in the neighbourhood of Gloucester Road, where my sister and her husband were to live," Mr. Richardson replied. It appears that Miss Richard son has been shamefully deceived by some individont using the assum ed name of Dr. Norman Rogers. When she realised the true position, in great anxiety of mind, the fa vented the story of the accident in order to save her mother from dis- tres during what proved to be the fatal illnces of Mr. Richardson.'

The manager of the Imperial Hotel, Ilfracombe, said to a Press Association reporter :~-
"A Mrs. Rogers, who gave her address as Hull, stayed here for n fortnight from August 24, leaving on Saturday, September 7.
She had previously written asking for a single room to be reserved for her. She arrived at the hotel alone and remained alone during the | whole of her stay. She did not appear to have any friends in Ilfracombe, but seemed perfectly happy."
The bride's late father was iden- tified with Queen's Road Wesleyan Church, Hull, and he took an ae- tive part in connection with the church organization and the Sun- day school. His daughter was also connected with the church and Sun- day school.
