Manila, P.1.-Cullon, the leper cotony of the Philippines which hitherto has been famed only as retreat for sufferers of the dread disease, has achieved distinction as an agricultural centre. Agricultural activity at the colony is conducted exclusively by the lepers them- selves.
Through the diligence of these unfortunates, many of them con- demned to a life in isolation, the colboy, which is far removed from other agricultural regions, produces suficicat foodstuffe to feed ite resi dents independent of imported sup- plies. According to estimates made by the colony officials, approximate- iy 842,500 is earned yearly by the leper agriculturalists.
