Professor A. M. Low made this
remarkable prediction when asked what he thought of the latest

A battle between the police and the pirates ensued when the police caught up with the pirates near Yn Eu Bar. The police fired a shot and ordered the pirates to administration. Miss Ivy Wise, aged twenty-one, of Linpefield-avenue, Thornton Heath, was found dead from the effects of coal-gas poisoning a few days after she learned that a man with whom she was on friendly terms was married.
It was stated at the inquest that a. fortnight before Mias Wise went home from her office in an hysteri- cal state. She had been keeping company with a doctor for a long period, and he used to call for her three times a week and take her

The deputy coroner said that ob- viously the girl was highly strung, and evidently being greatly in love the breaking off of the friend ship had deranged her mind. The doctor concerned was outside the court, and, if the jury wished, he could be called to give evdence.

Comparisons with Panama.

The chief points in his comparison were as follows:-
