An Act of Homage.

Looking at certain Paris collections, you realise how differently the mode is interpreted by each designer.

One expresses his personality by means of novel lines, another in perfect proportion and harmony of detail.

A model dress has “

It has been created as an act of homage to the loveliness of woman.

YOUR DARLING.

CRINOLINE STRAWS.

IN THE FELIX HAT SHOP.

The Felix Hat Shop are showing this week a delightful collection of crin straws. Most of them are made with those wide dropping brims which are now sa fashionable, and universally becoming. I noticed that there was a wide selection of | beige and off-brown tones, from the

palest oyster through all the range! of nudes and beiges to dull leáf brown. One particularly pretty

fine white lace, a band of beige velvet ribbon and velvet flower beads in off-brown tones; Another

A TEA ROSE DRESS.

FLOWERED-NINON FROCKS FROM PAMELA.

Pamela is now showing some exquisite frocks of flowered ninon for afternoon or evening wear, They are generally cut with longish skirts with the new rhythmic back- ward movement. Panele of every shape flutter from cunning curved hip lines sometimes so arranged, that except when the wearer is moving, you would not know that! the skirt was not cut all in one] piece.

One lovely dress which I s yesterday is arried out in very pale pink ninan printed with large tea roses in tones of misty blue and orange. Worn over a pink geor gette slip, the tones of the ninon become wonderfully soft and fragile looking.

The skirt is composed of long circular panels which are so arrang ed at the hip line that they fall with a ruffied edge. The hem of the under slip is bordered with the same ninon, so that when in repose the effect is that of a circular skirt. The neckline is interesting. The slip has a yoke of the minun also, and is cut with a circular neck edged with a narrow binding of orange. The neck of the dress follows the same line, but is cut ont fairly deep back and front, so that you get the effect of a double neckline.

SALE OF COTTON FROCKS.

There is a sale of cotton frocks now on at the Dolly Vardon "Hat Shop. The dresses, which are mark- at $10.50 and $12.50, are very pretty little models in washing prints and

broad cloth. They cotton examples of the new lines for sum. mer wear, and have those little touches of trimming and destinctive additions which do so much to give chic.

summer

Flowers are worn all the year 'round now, but they take an added importance during the months, and an added beauty. With tailor mades and coats the peat little button hole, often made of leather or felt, seems the most appropriate, but when the sun shines and we appear in organdica and voiles, Boating flower-like frocks of thin materials, the larger silken blossoms come to their own.

A delightful collection of flowers has just been received by the Felix Hat Shep. They are nearly all in pastel shades, and the lovely pinky gold and orchid tones are certain- ly the most prominent.

There are sprays of silken roses, perhaps, five flowers arranged two and two, and one, trailing sprays of organdie Bowers Organdie, too, is used for bunches of fuchsias.)

This is really a note for men. Many men here prefer to wear wash ing cotton ties in the summer but it has not been possible, previously, I believe, to get washing bow ties. They can now be found at WHITE- AWAY, LAIDLAW's in several nice de- signs of stripes and checks, and cost 75 cents each. They are of the May- fair Thistle pattern.

SILK HANDKER- CHIEFS.

This, too, is really a note for men. The PIONEER SILK STORE have just got in a selection of silk band- kerchiefs in very nice quiet colour- ings.

Women are to wear gloves again with evening dress, but they are different gloves. The long white! kid gloves which no
