The King's Recovery,
It gives me very great pleasure to be with your to-night to join in your society's annual celebrations of St. George's Day. It is difficult for anyone to speak for the Nary the Navy speaks for itself-but, having served for some years in our Senior Service, I am proud that I shall have the honour of replying to this toast which has been so ably proposed by Sir Cyril Cobb. Although not a sailor him self, Sir Cyrit is chairman of the Navy League-that fine organiza. tion whose chief aim is to keep ever before the public the absolute necessity of a Navy adequate to the needs of cur Empire.
