The growth of the port as A whole is almost bewildering in ita magnitude. The total length of the quays of the docks and basins was 41.7 miles in 1909. This year the mileage totalled 43.25, and mix miles of reconstructed quays have been brought into affective use. The Mrs. Alta Gage; Miss Violet total area of the authority's estate is now 3,863 acres, compared with 8,700 acres twenty years ago.
