TOO MANY PASSENGERS ON THE TAI FOOK SING.

The master of the Tai Fook Sing, Mr. H. Madsen appeared before Comdr. G. F. Hale at the Marine Court yesterday for unlawfully arriving in the waters of the Colony with more than 12 passengers on board-an offence against the pro- visions of Ordinance 10 of 1899 Secution 108.s. 2 and 94.

Mr. Horace Lo of Mesare. Lo Lo, who appeared for the defence, said that he had instructions from the owners to plead not guilty and asked for a formal remand. This was granted, the magistrate fixing the hearing for 10.30 Wednesday, 94 inst

Man Overboard! The master of the Hai Ching reports that on 30th inst. at about 7.40 p.m. when his ship was off Breaker Point in Lat. 22.58 ft. N.; Lon. 116.31 E., a deck passenger was seen to jump over board. He put the ship about immediately and boat was lowered, but after cruis ing. round for a considerable time. he had to abandon the search, there being no trace whatever of the un- fortunate man.
