ENTRY INTO THE COMMER-

'CIAL VEHICLE FIELD.

Profiting by the experience gain-' ed during the comtrustion of well- nigh every type of sidecar chassis, Messrs. A f. Stevens & Co. (1914), Ltd., of Wolverhampton, have now extended the scope of their opera- tions to the building of a chassis. suitable for adaption to the re quirements of a motor 'bus or motor lorry. And judging from the com- pleteness of the specification of the new' chassis and its very satinine- tory behaviour throughout a series of drastic tests to which it waa subjected in the Peak district of Derbyshire, the makers have fue- cessfully surmounted the difficulties which confronted them in their new venture.

The tests were carried out with a chassis designed for use with a 26-seater 'bus body, intended for long distance journeys at high speed, such as on the London-Edin- burgh service,

"Special Plant,

Simultaneously with the prepara tion and installation of special machinery for the manufacture of the chassis the Walsall Street branch of the firm is now engaged upon the construction of charabane and 'bus bodies, and will shortly he in a position to deliver motor 'buses, charabanca or lorries com pletely equipped for the road.

Six-cylinder Eaglue. The very comprehensive nature of the specification is evident from the following summary, and this com-

pleteness of detail, together with the straightforward layout and robust construction of all the parts, combine to ensure the maximum of efficiency and reliability.
