KOWLOON RESIDENTS' ASSOCIATION.
INTERESTING SPECULATIONS IN PRESIDENTIAL
ADDRESS.
THE RAILWAY COMPANY CRITICISED.
There were a large number of Kowloon residents present at the annual meeting of the Kowloon Residents Association, held yes- terday evening in St. Andrew's Church Hall. Mr. E. Cock, MB.E., President, was in the chair, supported by Mr. B. Wong Tape (vice- president), Mr. E. Abraham (Hon. Treasurer), and Mr. C. H. Manners, O.B.E. (Hon Secretary),
The President voiced some interesting speculations on the future of Kowloon in the course of his address. He dealt parti- cularly with the problem of the Star Ferry approach and pointed out that in his opinion the Railway Company were sitting on " a large amount of land of which they did not make any use. He auggested that long before the, Kowloon-Calais Railway was an accomplished fact the air and motor roates might render the station obsolete.
All residents were invited to support the garden party to be held at the Club de Recreio on March 8th in honour of the Hon. Mr. J. P. "Braga and the Hon Dr. S. W. Tso, the newly appointed Legislative Council representatives for Eowlcon.

"THE WOMAN DISPUTED."
UNUSUAL WAR PICTURE AT THE QUEEN'S.
VERY GOOD ACTING.
"The Woman Disputed will probably be the subject of some heated discussion among those who have seen it. It is the sort of story which some people will call #love- ly" others" perhaps "magnificent!' and not a few will probably express their opinion of it bluntly as "tripe". or some similar word.
Briefy the story is that Mary Ana Wagner, a young Austrian girl who is, as they say,
no better than she should be" is taken up by two young_officers, one Austrian, the other Russian, who bring about her moral reformation and both fall in love with her. When war is de- clared she has just consented to marry the Austrian, and the Rus "sian goes off to join his regiment swearing revenge. The little Aus- trian town of Lemberg which is the scene of the picture is captured by the Russians. Nika (the Russian) who is in command of the invaders takes a number af prisoners..among Austrian spy. He makes the usual condition, and Mary Ann yield? in order that Libert may escape. Then as a direct result of her sacrifice the Austrian's retake the wounded, informs Paul (the Aus town and Nika, who is mortally.
