The Chairman said: Your Directors are pleased to submit a DRINK MORE satisfactory statement of the year's working, and I may mention that this constitutes a record for the Company with the exception of the year 1927, which was abnormal owing to the presence of the large number of troops and transports.
Our business continues to show healthy expansion in all its branches and no effort is spared to serve the Colony and our large number of customers, with dairy and other produce of the highest quality at reasonable prices.
Turning to the Accounts the net working profit for the year amounts to $339,379.54. After pro- viding the sum of 8109,633.65 for depreciation of buildings, plant and machinery: 810,000 for bad and doubtful debts: 851,100 for further writing down Investments,

Last year, we extended an in- vitation to our customers to visit and inspect the Farm and Dairy at Pokfulam and although this was availed of the opportunity, we fully appreciated by "those who should like to see more visitors taking an interest in an enterprise of this nature, which is of vital importance to the health of the Colony.
Main Depot Extension. During the year, we have com- pleted a very useful extension, to our main Depot, which affords us much wanted additional accommo- dation, and enables us to serve our customers with milk and dairy pro duce quite apart from the Butchery Department, and also conduct ice sales thus obviating the necessity of going to the Ice Department in Pottinger-street.
Plans are now
being considered for rebuilding the old central portion of the Main Depot to cater for our increasing trade.

The Chairman explained that the matter had been carefully con- sidered by the Directors and the 15 per cent. was recommended in view of the fact that most of those. affected were in receipt of small salaries and because of the nature of the work, which was very arduous, having to be done at all times and seasons with perishable goods and live-stock.
