AT HELENA MAY INSTITUTE.

MR. HO KOM TONG ON WOMEN'S EMANCIPATION IN THE EASTE

HONG KONG'S SOCIAL LEAGUE OF NATIONS.

The unveiling ceremony of a commemorative tablet at the Helena May Institute last evening was one of more than ordin vary significance. Besides celebrating the fifteenth anniversary of the foundation of the Helens May Institute the Honorary Mem- bership of the Institute was conferred on Mr Ho Kom Tong, wife of one of the two principal benefactors of the Institute."

Congratulations were also offered to Mrs. E. D. C. Wolfe, L.B.E., the retiring vice-president, and Kra. C. G. Alabaster, M.B.E., on the honours conferred on them for their work for the Shanghai Defence Force."

Before the ceremony tea was served in the large hall of the Institute, all nations resident in Hong Kong being represented. Those on the platform were:- Mrs. W. T, Southorn (President of the Institute) and the Hen. Mr. Southern, CM.G., Mr. Ho Kom Tong, OBE.. and Mrs. Ho Kom Tong, Sir Robert “and Lady Ho Tung, Mr. Justice and Mrs. J. R.
