South China were early pressing and the Police goal had several Barrow escapes. The Police then got into their stride but could make little headway against South China | defence. Free kick against the Police sent South China ia but Wynne cleared. At half-time the score sheet was blank.
The second half opened with a rush by South China but they were turned back. Then a breakaway by South China found Williams un prepared and Lan Mau went in to beat Clarke with a fast screw shot." Two free kicks for the Police were cleared and then. Fung put the issue beyond doubt when he smashed in a shot from a yard outside the penalty area. A last effort by the Police was cleared by Pac, and South China won by two goals to ni.. 5

Referee: 3. W. E. Hollands. Play on the whole was fast and exciting, but the K.O.S.B. forwards could not finish the good work of A line half back line. Perks, at centre half for the Navy, fed bis wings well.
The Erst half was blank. The "second opened with Everest running through but he lost control and Brockman effected a smart clear ance. The game was a ding-dong struggle. End to end play being the order, although most of the shots were from long range. SMALL UNITS & CHINA ATHLETIC
This game Sookunpoo was well contested, the Small Units giving the Athletic a shock by leading at the interval.
A good crowd witnessed the game from the slopes overlooking Sookun- Pop Pitch Small Units soon had the Athletic defending. A little joss would have given the Units the lead early as Sabin just missed with Chan Sik Piu out of position. had been cleared Wilson

The Athletic opened the second half in grand style and the Small Units were stoutly defending a fine clearance by Dodshen being well applauded. At King's Park on Saturday, Recreio qualised for the second round of the Senior Shield Competi- tion as the result of a fine win" át the expense of the Club. The game a most interesting one and reached a high standard at times, excitement being great when Be éreio managed to get in front during extra time.

Recreio set up a hot attack from the kick-off, A. Cosano being at his best in the centre forward posi, tion. Club were having a fali share of the exchanges in midfield; Iu. But their forwards were not such a polished line as the home team. Alexander, however, was unlucky with a drive which struck Bousa Shortly before half time Gosano sent his brother away with an excellent pass but Edwards again made a fine EDVO.!!

The visitors opened the second half with a strong attack but Hi Hung Ching scored for the Athletic and the Reancia retired defeated by two clear goals,

This game was played on St. Joseph's ground and ended in a win for the Police by two goals to one though the game opened with the Police fielding nine men only.
Pust opened the score for the Police but Esstraan replied for Kowloon and the teams crossed over the score one all.
The second half was keenly cor tested. Post again beat Angus and when the final whistle sounded the Police were winners by the odd gou in three.

The. Queen's made several charges from their usual 2nd League team for this Shield Match on Saturday, but the newcomers all did well and
South China were well beaten by four goals to nil. Tharlow soon found the net for the Queen's, but South China for the remainder of the half kept the soldiers at bay. Wan Kwong Tin playing a fine

CHELSEA ELIMINATE EVERTON.
All the nine Division I. teams playing on their home grounds in the third round of the Football Association Cup competition on Saturday were successful in eliminating the visitors, including “ four teams in their own department--Cardiff, Shefield United, Sunderland and Manchester City. Two Division 1. visiting teams loss without scoring-Everton falling a prey to Chelsea, and New- castle going down, unes jectedly to the Southern Section team Swindon. Leeds United were firmly held by Exeter City to a division of four goals.
Cardiff disappointed their supporters by falling to Aston Villa, who got away with a 1 victory. Other good returns were Hud-
·dersfield's seven goals to Chesterfield's one," and Bury's six to Darlington'<6b; the losers being Northern Section teams playing on home ground. Blackburn, last sensor's heroes, got through by. the only goal in their meeting with thois Second Division opponenta, Barnsley.
Altogether eight replays are necessary, Southampton being. among the number. Mansfield Town survived by defeating the Wolves. The Corinthians had a 5-0 victory over Norwich,
Two matcher in the first round of the Scottish Cup were also played on Saturday. Thornhill defeated Murrayfield "Amateurs, and the Civil Service Strollers drew with Fraserburgh.
The Scottish Rangers had a runaway victory over Queen's Park. Aberdeen accounted for St. Mirren by scoring six goals without reply.

The Gunners were right out of luck in this Shield Match at Soo kumpoo, for after leading right up to the last few minutes of the game Coventry- they conceded a goal, and South Merthyr China managed to snatch a lucky victory during extra time. An un- fortunate incident marred the game, Ashington Davey of the RA, being sent off the field following tome rough play in which both sides were to blame. The only goal of the first half was scored by Watson from a fine centre from Walker.

Batsmen had the upper hand over the bowlers in nearly all the ne matches played on Saturday. Four centuries, two it Senior League games, one in & Junior match, and another in the only friendly match were scored. Kowloon C.C. 1st XI. are now leading the Sepior League Kow- loon UC. fegistered a fine win against the Navy, mainly owing to the contribution of 108 runs not out by W. Brace. G. R. Sayer made 11 runs not out for the Civil Service in their match against I.R.C. The match resulted in a draw.
The H.K.C.C. could only draw with the Craigengower, who pro duce a very strong set of "tail end" batsmen. The 2nd XI. avenged the first team's misfortune by defeating Craigengower 2nd XI. on the latter team's ground,

Playing on their own ground Kowloon C.C..and XI. defeated the Palics R... by six wickets. Scores were surprisingly low.
The Police batted first, their op- ponents attack was too strong and the Police, were dismissed for a meagre tofál of 30 rünk. No buts- men succeeded in getting into double Agures, while Overy, for Kowloon, took 7 wickets for 19 runs.
F. S. W. Smith gave Kowloon d good lead with a contribution of so runs, but with the exception of A. R. F. Raven, who made 12, the remaining batsmen failed to make much impression, the side being dis- missed for a total of 82 runs

At King's Park, Kowloon C.C. defeated the Royal Navy by 153 Kowloon batted first and. made 203 runs for four wickets de- clared. W. Brace contributed 108 runs not out A. W. Ramsay, who maintained a fine partnership with Brace made 36 runs, and E. E. H. Oliver contributed 28 not out.
The Navy replied with 150 runs, of which Sub-Lieut. H. C. Simms (43), Pay-Lieut. Watch (24) and Pay-Lieut. G. M. Waters (30) ware highest contributors. Goodwin, was in good form and took 3. wickets för 14 Fung

Civil Service C.C. drew with the Indian RC at home, both sides securing high scores. The home team batted fret, and thanks to n contribution of 118 not put by G. R. Sayer, the side was able to declare with a score of 189 runs for, the loss of 3 wickets A. E. Wood knocked up a welcome half-century.
The first three Indian wickets fell for only 14 runs, but A, H. Madar (65) and A. R. Minu (83) collaborated for the fourth wicket. J. 8. A. Carreem (21) was the only remaining batsman to make an effective stand. The visitors mari nged to play out time with a score of 150 for 9. Score:-

The Electrio could only reply with 93 runs of which 8. C. Banks made and Simpson formed the battery the heat contribution of 26. Fry taking a wickets for 37 runs and 2. for 41 respectively.

UNIVERSITY v. ROYAL ARTILLERY.
In the only friendly match play ed on Saturday, University 1st XI. defeated the Royal Artillery at Pokfulam oy 7 wickets.
The visitors opened.the batting" and made 80 runs, of which Capt. Kennedy made top score with 99. Lieut. Water made 17-and Capt. Durrent contributed 13 not out. S V. Gitting took three wickets for 5 runs, and Lam took 4 for 38.
Gittins made havoc of the bowling and secured 108 for the University.
