He Was noted for being A "dandy" in the days gone by, and was never seen without a button- hole. He once visited Vienna with King Edward and the Earl of Hopetoun, grandfather of the pre- sent Marquis of Linlithgow,
Mr. Deane still has perfectly good sight and bearing, but he broke his hip over two years ago and his side is paralysed.
