"TAI LEE SHIP OWNER'S TO APPEAL.

The owners of the sa. Tai Lee are to ask. Commander J. B. Newill, D.S.O., RN., the Harbour Master; to re-open the case in which a fing was imposed on Captain Edward Midley, the master of the Tai Lec for permitting work be carried on in his ship aamely discharging of cargo on Sunday, August 18th at 3 p.m. without a permit from the Harbour Master. Mr. M. K. Lo will appear on the owner's be- Ealt.
At the previous bearing Captain Midley pleaded guilty and said | that, as far as the ship's officers were concerned they had tried their best to prevent such work being done, but interested parties com plicated the matter. Commander Newill intimated to the defendant that the maximum penalty for such Ia offence was 81,000, but fined him
