CHAIRMAN'S" ADDRESS,

The Chairman said:-It is with great pleasure that your General Managers and Consulting Commit tee are able to present to you such an excellent account as that for the year 1926: the balance of 8743,214.12 constitutes a record surpassing the previous best, that for 1923, by approximately $100,000. The pre

income, was over $120,000. higher than the previous zecorů and the loss ratio well below the average. Expenses, though little less than for 1993, have grown con siderably during the past six years; this, however, is only to be expected in view of the fact that our nett premium has increased by 50 per cent over the same period. For 1020 the ratio of expenses to nett premium was 20.44 per cent as against 33.09 per rent for the year

MESSAGE TO THE LAODICEANS.

THE DEAN'S CONCLUDING LENTEN ADDRESS.

WHAT CHRISTIANITY ASKS AND GIVES.

The last of a series of able sermons, on the Messages of St. John to the churches under his charge in Asia Minor, was preach- ed last Sunday in St. John's Cathedral by the Very Reveread the Dean. He took for his text the 20th verse of the third chapter of Revelations which forms part of the Message to the Church of Laodices.

The opening part of the message, the Dean said, speaks of the grave mistake the Laodiceans had made in being lukewarm, "neither shot nor cold" and therefore of no use to God. Following the text you can rend why this state of being neither hot or cold is useless for Christ's purposes..
