By the way, there need no longer be any doul whether Sir William Joynson-Hicks's nickname is spelt "Ficks" or "Jix."

Not long ago, I w a menu card, a souvenir, which the Home Secretary, as a special compliment to its owner, had autographed with his nickname, and he had spelt it "Jix."

The diminutive is fully recognis ed by Sir William, and even Lady Jaynson-Hicks has been known to address him by it.-Daily Express.
