All the signs seem to show that there is a wider public concern, and the desire to pay reverence to the memories of those who fell is stronger than in previous years. What has dropped out is the victory sentiment which was so pronounced in the first few years after the Armistice. That was due perhaps to the feeling of relief and survival. But there is no Victory Ball now at the Albert Hall or anywhere else, nor are there any victory celebra tions in the London hotels. People no longer celebrate the victory, but only remember the sacrifice.
