One member of the party sat on a rock, and expressed a desire to remain there until the party care back that way again, but was gently reminded of the "tigers in that region, and decided to choose the Eventually the summit was attain- ed and the glorious view that met their gaze quite repaid them for their exertions. A young lady and gentleman were seated on the very tap, looking very cool and at ease, much to the astonishment of the four gallants.
After a well earned rest, the party decided to return by a "short cut." the Pilot Bill mapping the course out on the chart, but alas for the chart, either the sun was too strong, or something had gone wrong with the compass. for soun it was evident the party had last their bearings, and found them selves in a sea of grass.
Twilight was fast approaching and there was nothing for it but to go ahead and trust to luck, so with one voice they cried "Excelsior," and the Pilot lending them on.
One of the party in trying to emulate the goats, jumped a ravine. but saw his watch and chain su5- pended from a branch of a tree, and had to jump back to recover them. Owing to shortness of statpre one member of the party kept losing himself in the long grass which abounded, and the boulders which enuld be felt, but not seen, where the chuse of some "mild" language, A wayside stall was hailed with delight and the "Alpinists" regaled themselves with Chinese but sarsaparilia of a doubtful age, Some preferred to drink of the streams that flowed down the moun tain dide, where, in the words of the Psalmist, "The Hons and wild assos quench their thirst."
However, all things must concie to an end, at some time or other, and eventually, after a painful scrambling descent the party reach- ed the lower level as dusk began to fail.

Fortunately, a good Samaritan along and the travellers availed themselves of a lift in a motor-lorry, preferring to be jolted to a jelly, rather than do any mere "padding the hoof.!
One of the party at least, express ed himself as highly pleased with the day's exploit, but the others preferred to reserve their opinion until their minds and bodies were more settled..
