FEWER ARRIVALS BUT FAIR | AMOUNT OF CARGO.
Only nine vessels arrived in port during the 24 hours ended at 9 a.m. yesterday, but freigirts both for the Colony and for ports beyond were well up to the average.
All the steamers brought goods for Hong Kong. The total amount unloaded was 9,254 tons, of which, 4,300 tons were contributed by thres Bitish ships. The two best returns were 2,130 tons by the s. Bornes from Haiphong and Haihow, and 1.469 tons on the s.1. Nagano Moru, from Calcutta and Singapore."

Los ANGELES, Oct. 28th, L. T. Lehman, well known mit lionaire, sprang a surprise to-day when he calmly rode into San Pedro harbour in the tiny Japanese fishing sampan with Honolulu as his last port of call.
