LOCAL IMPORTS DECREASED.

THROUGH CARGOES NORMAL.

Freights imported for the Colony during the 24 hours ended at 9 a. yesterday showed a decrease, while through cargoes remained normal.

There were only 6,877 tons of freights landed here. Of these, four British steamers contributed 4,020 tons. The best return being *335 tons brought by the Glengarry from Singapore

Through cargoes amounted to 11,643 tons.

These were on the manifests of seven steamers. Four British vessels accounted for 9,242 tons The two best returns were

both carried by Briciah steamers. Glengarry from Singa- pore was responsibla for 4,431 tons and the 8.5, Devanha, also from the same part had 3,230 tons.

During the period under review there were 11 arrivals and 11 de Partures. The nationalities were: British, arivals and depar- tures Japanese, 1 arrival and departure; Chinese, 2 arirvals and
