The weekend freight returns showed only moderate #gures. There were seventeen arrival for the period ended on Saturday morning, but the freights both for Hong Kong and for ports beyond were nothing exceptional. Ypater- day morning there were Ave fewer arrivals, and the freights dropped accordingly...

For the twenty four hours ended. at 9 am on Saturday there were 17,744 tons of cargo imported into the Colony, of which 3,245 tons were

in four British vessels.

The beat individual return by a British steamer was 2,350 tons of coal In six ships under other finga 14,499 tous were recorded, with an American steamer bringing 2,221 tans of miscellaneous, a Dutch ship 4,873 tons of kerosene; a Japanese freighter 3,500 tons of coal; and

two Chinese.steamers 2,115 tons and 1,100 tons of rice.
