BRITISH STEAMERS GOOD CONTRIBUTORS.
The
returns for the 94 hours ended at 9 a.m. yesterday showed that twenty vessels had arrived into port. Freights imported and carried for poris beyond the Colony were heavy. British steamers were good contributors:
Out of the twenty arrivals, filteen discharged here. The total amount of cargo unloaded was 17,232 tons, of which, 7,055 tons were accounted for by Ave British vessels. The two best returns were shown by the a Perseus (Blue Funnel), from Liver pool and Singapore, and the as President Cleveland, from San Francisco and Shanghai. The former steamer yielded 4,900 tons and the latter vessel, 2,787 tons.
